Acceptable Use Policies:
Legal Statements:

The Kentucky Amateur Radio Web Site or KYHAM is a privately owned and administered web site. The owner/administrator Pat Spencer, KD4PWL has final authority in all user conduct or other issues related to the use of the web site.

BBS and Email Resources Decorum:
KYHAM is a thoughtfully run community based resource. When participating on electronic communication facilities provided by the site, users are expected to observe a level of decorum that promotes and encourages the free exchange of information. The rules of decorum are common courtesy and since 1993, only one user has been asked to take his participation elsewhere.

Rules of conduct for all electronic communication facilities include:

  • No spamming any forum or email list. Doing so will result in immediate, non-negotiable removal.
  • Stay on topic. The BBS has clearly defined message areas and email facilities have the topic of "Amateur Radio" in general and "Amateur Radio in Kentucky in Specific."
  • Respect the opinions and rights of other users. No bullying, flames, insults, or attacks are permitted. If a debate is taking place, debate the subject and don't get personal.
  • If you need to get off topic, or despite your best efforts need to get heated, please take it to private email.
  • If another user violates the rules, let the administrator take care of the situation. He will do so outside of the public facility over email or telephone. No need to add to the confusion and attract the administrator's attention. :)
  • As a matter of etiquette, do not forward or BCC: content from a private email exchange to the public communication facilities without the original author's permission.
  • Buy/Sell/Trade postings are for personal equipment only. Commercial postings are not allowed. All items must be amateur radio related.
