Kentucky ARES Emergency Communications Training:

The Kentucky ARES Training Course originated with copyrighted material composed by Pat Lambert, W0IPL. It was offered to KY ARES by permission of the author. Ron Goodpaster, AG4TY and many other experienced KY ARES coordinators and members adapted the course for Kentucky use.

This training course is offered at no cost to anyone interested in starting or refreshing their amateur radio emergency communication knowledge. If you find value in the course and would like to contribute something for the use of it, we ask that you contribute something to the charity of your choice, or time/effort to public service in your community.

The course is comprised of study materials and 3 exams and required 2-5 hours depending on your reading speed. After successful completion of the course, you will receive a PDF certificate. Please retain this PDF when it is sent to you.

Each exam has 50 questions, and a minimum score of 40 correct answers is required to pass. Exam 1 has two questions concerning attitude that must be answered correctly.

If you have questions, please contact Amber is an Official Emergency Station reporting directly to the KY ASM for Policy and Information Resources and scores all the exams. Please be patient in receiving your results. Amber is the only volunteer scoring the exams, and there may be many people taking tests at the same time.
